Izzy - day 2

Mr Devereux noticed yesterday that most of us started our diary by saying “Today we…” so he challenged us today to start with something different. Anyway here it goes…

As I mentioned yesterday, we were about to go on a night walk. It was really fun and challenging!! J We were in pitch dark and had to hold a rope and follow it to the end of the course. You had to use communication skills to warn people of “hiccups” on the path like hills, rocks, logs and roots. We got quite muddy.

We had to get up at 8 am. It was strange but apparently we were to sleep quite quickly L so either we were very quiet or it was all a big dream that we were talking! After breakfast we had a room inspection and we got 8½/10. We were quite proud.

Our first activity was the ropes course. IT WAS SO FUN!!! (But also quite scary!) We started on a small course to practise our skills. Then we moved on to a BIG one. We got a harness and a rope to keep us safe. We climbed really high while walking on wires and being scared out of our skin!!

We did a second course where it was just a log and we did star jumps, hops and walking backwards.

Then we did the…dun, dun, dun…trapeze! You had to climb up a tall thin pole with a block of wood on the top about 50 cm long and wide. Once you got to the top your legs turned to jelly.

Note from Mr Devereux
Izzy ran out of time to finish her post. She says that in the afternoon she went canoeing.
