We had a whole school golden time on Friday 27th November 2009. Golden time is 30 minutes of playing games or doing something you want to do, like listening to music or playing board games with your friends. Some of us just sit and relax. We have golden time with the whole school when we are celebrating Saint Andrews day. Saint Andrews is the patron saint of Scotland. We celebrate him on the 30th November, but because we only get golden time on Fridays we had to celebrate him on Friday 27th November. The Scottish flag is the cross of Saint Andrew, and this is widely displayed as a symbol of national identity.
For our whole school golden time we had different activities in each classroom, with all the teachers making up a Scottish activities to do with Saint Andrew. Some of the activities included clay modelling, playground games, hunt the Nessie, cross stitch and loads more. The whole school golden time went on for an hour. Classes from P1-7 chose an activity and went to different classes each. Some people ended up in the same classroom. It depended on which activity you chose to do.
