Hello it’s Menace here.

Yester is only school I have ever at! And soon I will be leaving. =(
So I would like to share a few of my favourite moments.

My class the best class ever to have been at Yester (duh).
My class has had some really great moments together. Even when we fall out have always made up. Everybody says our class is the loudest class in the whole school. And we can’t say we're not! =D

Anyway I have learnt a lot at my time Yester which I can only thank the teachers for! (Thanks) But I have to say P7 has really been amazing for a lot of reasons:

1. Benmore
2. All the trips
3. Just amazing
Benmore was really fun. =D I really enjoyed the abseiling.

My time at Yester Primary School has been AMAZING! I have had so many new opportunities that I probably couldn’t have anywhere else. P7 is the class where I’ve had the most new experiences like King Loth, Choices for Life and getting in to the hockey team! :)

From nursery all the way through to P7 I’ve loved going to Yester. The teachers have all been really friendly, (as long as you behave yourself…!) and don’t believe in just sitting all day and doing boring work. They like to get up and about and be active! We are very eco and we are going for the green flag but sadly we will be gone when they get it! :)

My favourite trip was……… BENMORE!! I loved Benmore so much! It was really fun and it was good to go on holiday with all your friends!

Izzy - musical memories

Murrzo, Captain Choas, Menace and I have been doing violin since P4. In P5 Ponakins came to our school and started violin. In P6 Menace couldn’t do violin any more so she had to leave. :( Our teacher is Miss Turbayne. She is a really good teacher and she does really fun activities! :)

We started with ‘Fiddle Times Starters’. Then we moved on to ‘Fiddle Time Joggers’. We have also been playing with sheets of music.

This year is our last year of violin. Next year in Knox Murrzo, Captain Chaos and Ponakins will continue violin but I’m going to another school so I’ll learn there!

I have had the best time ever at Yester! If I was to sum it up in one word it would be AMAZING!!!!!!
I’m going to miss Primary School so much although I’ve had so many amazing memories!!!!!!
Primary School is quite easy compared to Knox because you have to change classrooms a lot!! It’s much more confusing that Yester. The lunches are really nice!
It’s good how you have more responsibility and you’re more independent!
I love Primary School and I’m going to miss it a lot!

I have really enjoyed my time at Yester Primary. Even though I have only been here since P5 I will be really upset when we have to leave. My favourite year was P7. We have had loads of trips and I really enjoyed Benmore. Mr Devereux has been a great teacher and I’m a bit anxious about all the new teachers at Knox. I am so, so glad that all my friends will be in my class so I will at least know someone! :D

I can’t believe that I have nearly finished primary! I have really enjoyed primary, and I can’t wait to go to Knox. A lot of funny things have happened in primary, especially at Benmore. Moonbeam, Brownie, Nevis and I had a lot of fun at Benmore. :) On my first day ever of school, I remember going out of the wrong door too early at home time. I feel quite silly thinking about that now. :) My favourite lessons were art and ICT. :) Knox is so different from Yester and I can’t wait to go but I will still miss going to Yester. :)

I have really enjoyed my time at Yester, and I will never forget it. Every class has been amazing but this year has been the best. I love being in P7, because you are at the top of the school and you get to go to loads of great places for school trips. I also like being in P7 because there is a leavers’ party at the end of term and they are always really fun.
In Yester I have learned loads of great and useful things. I have improved on my maths – going from level A to level E.
I have improved on my spelling – Now on level F!
I have improved on loads of things like my language and my writing, and that’s all thanks to all the great teachers that have got me through it all.
I especially loved Benmore Camp. We had loads of great activities and I made some great new friends. There was loads activities like: caving, climbing and abseiling, canoeing, forest walk, gorge walk, high ropes and loads more.

That’s all the things that I enjoyed at Yester and I really don’t want to leave.
Thanks to all the teachers and thanks to all my best friends.

Teaching P1 and 2

A couple of weeks ago the two J.R.S.O., Swagger and Pony, went to teach the primary 1/2's how to cross the road safely.
Firstly we asked them what they already knew which wasn’t very much so we took them to a proper road where we told them where it is not safe to cross and where it is safe to cross. It went really well and P1/2’s can say that they can cross the road the safe way!

Botany trip

A few days ago our class went for a little walk around Gifford for our Botany project which is all about plants, trees and wildlife growing things. :) While we were walking around we stopped a few times too look at trees and flowers. Also, a few of the pupils' parents came in and went for a walk with us. Mr Morgan knew so much about plants some of us were amazed.
When we went on our walk we learnt a lot about the wildlife. We got to draw the leaves, seeds and also we got to learn about the types of trees. Some of the trees were: silver birch, oak, beech, hawthorn, sycamore, pine, nettle and many more. We also found some tops of acorns which some wild animals had left behind.

Thoughts of the trip
Nevis: ‘I liked the trip and I learnt a lot from the trip.’
Rascal: ‘I enjoyed walking and fresh air but it was quite boring at times.'
Brownie: ‘It was good, fun and very interesting.’
Bizz: ‘I thought it was good and interesting.’
Skitt: ‘I thought it was fun and I learnt some stuff about flowers.’

Our Knox induction days

On Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th June we went to Knox Academy for out induction days. We all met up in the hall at the start of the day. For Traprain House our first class was science and we got to use a Bunsen burner which was really fun! Then we did dance with a teacher called Mr Campbell who was really funny. :)

We did our Guitar Hero later on in the day. In our classes we split up into bands and came up with band names. We all had a go and the band with the highest score got though to the final. The Pythons were the winners and they were from Garelton! But other people in Lammerlaw and Traprain got into the final as well, because there was 3 acts allowed in the final, and Bee, Murrzo and other people in their class got into the final but didn’t win. :(

On the Wednesday we did sports for 3rd and 4th Period. We did dodge ball and softball. They were both really fun! After the sports for 2 hours we had Modern Studies. It was fun, because we got to make a newspaper article about our visit time at Knox and it was a competition. Bee, Pony and somebody else from Traprain won. But I can’t mention their name. After that we went back into the main hall and did a communication activity that was fun. :) We had to go onto groups and name different things that were hung up on the walls and if we didn’t know them we would just need to leave them out. The first activity was you got a piece of paper and you needed to describe the picture and then you would pass it to your left and then the other person would write something different about the picture. The second activity was when you went to the front and there was a PowerPoint and it was about different languages. You had to match the describing words to their meaning. And the last activity was when you got a piece of paper and thefe were loads of different pictures and you had to name them. If you couldn’t name all of them you would just have to leave it out. And after that it was home time. :)

We both really liked the visit days at Knox and can’t wait to go back in August. We also can’t wait to make loads of new friends.

Botany Trip

In class we are doing a botany project which means studying flowers and trees scientifically. As part of our Botany project we decided to go on a trip. On Monday (14th June) we went on a trip to the local woods down the road from the school. The purpose of our trip was learning about different plants and trees.

Different parents come along to help and share their knowledge on plants. Also they came because it’s a bit pressuring for Mr Deveruex to look after 25 children!

We learnt lots of new trees including:

beech

birch

hawthorn

sycamore

pine

We drew the leaves, seeds and trees on a piece of paper.

At the end, we all split up and had to find a tree that we had identified before and a new one either that we knew the name of or we could ask an adult if they knew. After about 5 minutes we all got back together and shared what we had found.

Soon we will be displaying the drawings in our class!

Guitar Hero

In our Guitar Hero project our band is called KIX .The members in the band are Sov who is on the drums, Skitt who is on bass and Bizz who is on guitar. We are really enjoying our project. On the 16th of June we are going up to Knox Academy for the battle of the bands. We have been very successful in the songs that we have played. We are the only band who has been on medium difficulty and the rest of the bands have only been able to do easy. The best bands so far are KIX, Relentless and Sound Smashers.

Primary 1 learning stories!

On Friday we went down to primary 1 and they shared their learning stories with us (: A learning story is a little book to keep track of their learning. Their learning stories were all about their whole class project right now and that is all about farming, farm animals, crops they grow on farms and more. We went with our buddies to hear what they have been learning and after that we had to write a little comment to tell our buddy how much we enjoyed reading their learning story and also about how much information they have researched.
Rascal: "My buddy did great with her learning story (: I really enjoyed reading and learning about it."
Izzy: "My buddy is my brother so it was nice too for him to show how much he has learnt."

Investment Game

This week is money week. We play loads of great games but this one was our favourite !
This game is called the Investment Game =)
In this game you have to buy and sell shares. At the end of the game the person with the most money wins. You can have your money in different forms. One is in cash and the other is shares. Say if you had 70 shares with Pepsi , then every month they would send you a dividend which contained money which the business earned every week and all the other people with shares in the business would get the same amount as you. When or if the business ran out of money because nobody would buy anything from their shop then you wouldn't earn any money.
In this game we had to make a profit. We had some scrap paper that we could write things on that we needed. We needed the paper for writing things on for the Bank type thing ^ which you will see a picture of [Mr Devereux adds: it was a stock broker's]. Izzy's mum came in to help with the bank and she did very well!

Mr Devereux had headlines on the interactive whiteboard that he would change every round. He also had companies up on the normal whiteboard that he would also change the share price of every round.

Menace thought : "It was better than normal maths and everybody enjoyed it! It was great fun ! =)"-

Brownie thought : "Fun, fun, fun! It was the best thing that we have done in maths in ages =)"

Murrzo thought : " We played it last year in maths but this year was better =) "

When we went up to the bank, and we wanted to buy and sell a share Mr Devereux would charge a commission that we would have to pay. People got confused by this but they understood it by the end.

We definitely want to play this game again next year in High School =)

$$$ MONEY WEEK! £££

This week is money week! Money week is when we learn about money and how to use it properly. Today (Tuesday) Mr Devereux was teaching us about shares. A share is when you pay a certain amount of money for part of a company called a share. A share is a piece of paper that says you own a part of a buisness. The more shares you buy, the more of company you own.

Tomorrow we are going to play an investment game where we get into pairs and buy and sell shares depending on the news articles Mr Deveruex is going to put on the board. We each start off with £100 and we see who can make the most money by the end of the morning. Izzy's mum is coming in to help. Last year Izzy, Murrzo, Captain Choas, Fish and Skitt played this game and it was so fun! We can't wait to play it again! =D

Promenade theatre

Yesterday we did some drama in class. (:

We were learning about Promenade Theatre. Mr Devereux let us act one out in the hall and it was little red riding hood.

Promenade Theatre is when the audience take part and then become part of the play by taking part in the scenes up as they go along.

In our case we all became phones, chairs and doors and more. We also got to act out the characters like granny, Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf. It was really fun and we all like it.

We are now making up our own plays in groups. (We get a fairy tale story, jazz it up and act it out). There is Shrek, Alice in Wonderland and Humpty Dumpty with a twist).

We did a science experiment. We stretched springs with weights and we did another exeriment on oil. It was really hot at first but as it cools down it goes thicker. It was really fun science to learn about.

Yesterday we started a new topic called 'Guitar Hero'. It's an Xbox game (a type of electronic game-console) in which you make a band using a connected guitar, drum set and microphone.

We got into bands of 3, and one of 4:

Second we had to make a image for our bands. That means to pick our band's logo and style.

On the 16th of June we are going to visit our new high school (Knox Academy) to compete with all the other P7s who are going to Knox after the summer. It's going to be really fun!

In the next couple of weeks we're going to start really getting into our bands and start practising playing and singing together! =D

National Hockey Tournament! =)

Yesterday (Thursday 27th May) the hockey team did another tournament at Peffermill. At Peffermill they have two pitches!!!! Teams from all over Scotland came for fun matches. Our team did really well and won! =D

We played 5 matches against lots of different teams. Some teams weren't much of a challenge, but some others were. The first game was quite hard because we weren't used to the astro-turf (fake grass) but after that we were fine. Here are the scores to our games:

At the end we had a really weird game of hockey with a team called 'Peebles' where people were picking up the ball and actually throwing it in the goal! It was really fun!! =P

Then at the very, very end we had a big group photo of all the teams that were playing there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At the end of the day we had soooooo much fun we could have stayed there for the whole day!!!!!!

On Tuesday 25th of May 2010 we had an art lesson about different types of plants. We went outside and collected things that we needed for our collages. When we got inside we sat down to make our pictures. We all got different things to stick on our pictures and then we got going making them. Mr Devereux said that we could stick different things down on our pictures.

Giggles thought, “It was okay, because I’m not really good at art.”

Bee thought, “It was fun, but we got in a mess with the PVA.”

I was messy and sticky but it was FUN.
The class all did different pictures and all of them are really good! Some people made theirs 3D and some people just made them 2D. J

Soil analysis

On Tuesday 25th May we did a soil experiment where we got a bit of soil from the nursery garden and took it apart. We sorted the soil on bits of paper. We found all sorts of things from stones to worms. We had to sort the things we found in to piles and make sure they went into the right pile so they didn’t get mixed up. We kept 3 of the soil piles and their piles of stones and other things to put on display. Some people put their bugs under cups to stop them running away. Some people gave their bugs names. There were Bobs, Freddi’s, a Susan Boyle and a Gordon Ramsay. After the experiment, all the bugs were put outside, and the soil was put back in the nursery garden. Here are some comments about the experiment:

Ponakins said, ”I really enjoyed the soil experiment and finding all the bugs!”
Rascal said, “I thought it was really fun and enjoyed holding the worms!”
Fets said, “I thought it was very cool!”

Meadow Bank is a sports competition for schools around East Lothian, where we compete against each other.

Hockey Competition

On Tuesday 25th May Captain Chaos, Bizz, Menace, Izzy, Moonbeam, Swagger, Murrzo, Skitt and Pony went to a hockey competion in Penicuik. We were in the Regional Finals because earlier in the year we were in another competition and we won so we qualified for the Regional competition. At the competion there were eight teams and we came fourth.

Yesterday we dissected a plant. We had to take all the parts out the plant such as the:

We used a little knife to cut the parts of the flower out. There was little slimy part called the ovary and we had to take that out.

Did you know that there are male and female parts to a flower joined together? ♀ <--- female , ♂ <--- male sign

Rascal: " I didn't like it. I thought it was a shame because if you looked at the flower before it was dissected it looked all pretty."

Outside Goldentime = Fun!

On Friday it was hot so we got to go outside for golden time! =P We played with space hoppers, hula hoops, a giant ball and an experiment that Swagger and Nonny did down the hill. =l

We got given a class talk to do on a topic that we had never done before and we were interested in. We had 3 weeks to prepare it in and then we had to present it to the class. Rascal was the first to do her class talk. It was about Sweetheart Magazine which Rascal writes for. Tug Of War

Today we did tug of war. Tug of war is when we have a rope and a person at each end of the rope. Then you tug on the rope and try and pull the other person over the mark.

What we did today!!!

We were put into pairs and had to see who was stronger. We were doing this to prepare for a competition at Meadowbank Stadium in Edinburgh.

School fair

On the 8th of May we had our school fair. It was a nice day and there were lots of activities like decorate a tile, bouncy castle, Pony rides, whack the rat, tea and cakes and the stocks. The stocks are where any P7s who volunteered could go in proper stalks and get wet sponges thrown at them. I, (Pony) went in and got really cold! Also Mr Devereux threw sponges at me. (I will get revenge!!!)
We don’t have a final figure but it is definitely over £1700!

Dyslexia assembly

On Monday 10th May 2010 ten people from our class did an assembly on dyslexia. Dyslexia is when people have find certain things difficult like spelling, times tables, writing and putting things in order. Ten people from our class volunteered to help with the assembly. They were: Brownie, Rascal, Tashmeer, Menace, Izzy, Swagger, Moonbeam, Pony, Nevis and Kizzy.

They showed us a PowerPoint and they taught us a song. The song was great fun.
At the end of the assembly all the volunteers got badges with the Dyslexia Scotland symbol.

In our science lesson we were learning about variables and input and output variables. The first activity we did was with a pulley. Then we did one on height of liquid, then our third one was leaves and then finally we had height and weight.

Choices for Life

On Tuesday 11th May out class went to Choices for Life on a school trip along with other people in P7 from different schools. The reason we were there was because we were learning about drugs and how it’s really bad to take them! There was music playing with one famous girl band and the rest were unknown artists. It was good because half the girls in our class were jumping to the music. There was flashing lights and blasting music and screaming.

Rascal: “My throat was really sore after because of all the screaming I was doing”

The day was really good and we all learnt more abut drugs and how it’s very bad to take them so never take drugs, for your own good!

Today we did our whole school golden time. We had a selection of games. There was juggling, rounders and lots more. Tashmeer did rounders and Fets did wacky games.

Finnish Visitors

Today we had some Finnish visitors. Our visitors were a bit older than us. They were about 12 to 13 years old. They were really good at English. And we learned some Finnish.

Today we played loads of games with the Finnish school. Everyone thought this was really fun. They were really good at a lot of the games, and they seemed really sporty. We taught them a lot of Scottish games, while they taught one Finnish one .

After we had played a lot of games we had half an hour to just play normally with them by ourselves. That was when we got to know a lot of them. Most of our class made some new friends. The girls just walked around and talked but the boys had a game of football.

Then we all went in from lunch. There was a really nice lunch today. It was Italian style so we had a lovely pizza and pasta selection for our guests.

After lunch we got people's email address and then went back outside and the Finnish people had a surprise for us ......... they very kindly gave us about 9 packets of Finnish sweets. Some people liked them but others didn't. They tasted like liquorice.

And then they all had to go. When they left some of girls were nearly crying, all the boys were shaking hands and the girls were giving hugs. And the Finnish people were taking loads of photos.

So today was a really busy, fun and sad :( :) day :( :)

Yesterday ( 4th May ) we did a video conference. We enjoyed being asked questions by our friends in Denmark and we liked seeing you on the webcam. Some of the questions you asked were quite hard and some people learned some things by the questions.

Bee said, "I thought it was quite interesting to see the Danish people on the webcam."

Ponakins thought , "I really enjoyed it and I thought that it was exciting."

Brownie thought, "It was fun, but scary being in front of loads of people."

Menace thought, "It was great."

We all really enjoyed it and maybe the next time we could ask some questions about Denmark.

Maths Road Show

On Friday the 28th April we had our maths roadshow. A maths roadshow is when P 2-7 go and do loads of maths puzzles and games! They were laid out from 1 to 100. There were 4 sections: very easy was green, yellow was easy, red was hard and blue is very hard. We set them out round the hall in order and then were given a sheet to mark down the things we'd done. A teacher would check them once we'd finished.

Moonbeam
I was working with Menace. We only got 2 puzzles completed because we spent most of the time trying to figure out one of the hard puzzles. We didn't actually manage to finish it in the time we were given in the hall so Mr Devereux let us finish it it in the class room. The actual puzzle was to move wooden circles between 3 poles without putting one that was bigger on top of one that was smaller while counting how many moves in was by tallying. The total of our moves was 123. I think the maths roadshow is great and would do it again!

My partner was Izzy. We got 1 puzzle done but it was the second hardest! We spent most of our time on the hardest puzzle in the whole hall! It was putting cards down in a certain order. The second hardest one was putting the same number next to it it was so hard. I'm proud of myself for doing the second hardest puzzle. I really enjoyed it and I'd do it again!

On the 26th of April a professional dancer came in and taught us some street dance. Her name was Beth Noble. She first taught us a routine and then she showed us some counter balances. Then we had to make up our own counter balences with a partner and put them into our own dance.
Here are some of the things are class thought about the dance workshop:

Moonbeam: "It was really fun and active!"
Nevis: "It was really, really fun and I found it very, very active!" :D
Izzy: "I thought the dance workshop was really fun and active and it inspired me to do more dancing!" =P
Ponakins: "I think it was really fun. I learnt loads of stuff and I would love to do it again."
Murrzo: "I think it was really, really, really fun and I learnt how to do loads of new stuff!"

Visit from...

On Friday, 22nd April, 2010 our class got a visit from a few teachers from the high school we are going to after the summer holidays. Mr Stirling and Mr Greenaway were talking to us about what we will be doing in our high school and also the timetable. Mr Stirling and Mr Greenaway are both P.E teachers and guidence teachers. (:
We get put into different houses. There are Lammerlaw, Garlton and Traprain. We won't find out what house we are in until the two-day visit.
We learnt about some of the subjects that we are going to learn at high school. Here are a few: science, maths, English, geography, drama, I.C.T, music and most of the same things we get taught at primary school. The lessons are about 1 hour. -.-
Kizzy and Rascal are really looking forward to high school to meet new friends and the start of deciding what we want to do when we are older.

Cross country

On the 22nd of April 12 people went to a cross country competition at Hallhill which is in Dunbar. We were entered in the small schools races. The boys and girls races were separate. The small school girls were first. The race was 1.2 miles. Milz came in 2nd, Ponakins came in 3rd, Murrzo came in 8th and Pony came in 9th. In the boys race Skitt won it and others are in different classes.

Yester won the shield and it was our 8th time. We all really enjoyed ourselves and had a great time. :)

Me and my home.

My name is Trine and I´m 12 years old. I live in Stadil in Westjütland. I go to football two times a week, I sing and I go to FDF. I help my mother and father at home. I have no animals and I hate spiders. I help my mother with baking. I have a brother and a sister. My brother´s name is Mads and he is 18 years old and my sister´s name is Karina and she is 21 years old. She does not live at home more.

My day.

I wake up 6.30 in the morning. My mother and my brother go to the work and my father goes to his job 6.45. So there I am alone at the home. I go by bike to school every day and the school starts 8. 20. When I come home from school, I empty the automatic dishwasher. So then I do my homework. So I go to my hobbies.

I love.

I love football and my favourite football team is Liverpool. They play in England. My favourite players are Fanando Torres and Steven Gerrard and Daniel Agger.

I love my friends too. I have not a best friend.

Jobs.

My mother is on a window factory and my dad drives tractor. My brother is training to carpenter and my sister is about to train for a social worker. My sister lives in Nørresundby.

I’m home alone every day I come home from school.

My favourite animal is a dog and a giraffe. I do not know what I want to be when I grow older.

My eastern holiday.

Sunday I was to christening in the church with Eric and Birthe. They have children. Their names are Steffen and Katrine. They come from Irland.

Before we left I thought I would bore me. We were in the church 10:30 o`clock. There was one who played trumpet. It sounded not very good. The little baby was named Christopher Mathias. When we got back to Eric and Birthe I stood just a little and was bored but then we had to eat, I came to sit next to Louise who is as old as me. We have played handball some years ago. Her brother`s name is Nicholas, I also played handball with him. I know him. I also sat next to a girl named Katja . I do not know who she was. But she was very sweet.
First we got patty shells I love them. We got them always on Dec. 25th when my grandmother lived-She made the best patty shells, but she died 2 years ago. For main course we got some meat and potatoes and sauce and for dessert we had icecream cake.

After we had eaten Katja, Eric, Louise's mother and my mother and father and me went for a walk.
When we got home we started to play cards. So we were going to have dinner there. We had bread and all sorts of sliced cold meat.

After we had eaten Katja, Louise and I get out and jump on the trampoline. Then Katja went home and me and Louise would go for a walk with Christopher in the baby-carriage,when we got home from the walk I was home I said goodbye and then we drove home.

My name is Olivia me and my family live in a small town named Vedersø. But we are also building a house in a town named Madum.

My room.

This is my room now.

I love my room, the only thing there is annoying is that I have no door into my room, and my room is laying right out to the kitchen, so it is hard to get some peace. Thou I love my room I am looking forward to get my new room, it is bigger and I will get to redo it all.

The top floor is all my room. I can also pick the room down the hallway, but I am pretty sure that I am going to pick the room on the top floor.

At our new house in Madum we are also having a stable where we have a lot of horses. In Madum we have tree big horses and a pony, while we have a big horse named Dexter in a big city named Århus. The reason Dexter is in Århus is that he is getting trained to run race.

Our cats.

We have three cats. The one of them is a male his name is Bertil, we really had two male cats but Bertil´s brother whose name was Prop ran away with his mother. I miss Prop a lot he was very tame and I could get him to sit, lick, jump and walk right beside me. Before Prop and Bertil´s mother ran away she got a kitten who we couldn’t find a name for. But when she got tree kittens we decided to name her Dychess and her kittens Toulouse, Ballios, and Marie after the movie Aristocats, but now Ballios is disappeared and Marie is dead so we only have Toulouse back.

Our dogs name is Fusti. She is a very happy dog and she licks all the time it can be very annoying and we are trying to train her so she won’t lick, but it is very hardJ.

Except for the fact that Fusti licks a lot, she is a very god dog, she has never bidden anyone before and I don’t think that she is ever going to do it.

My friends.

My friends name is Laura and Ida. They are very nice and we have never got mad at each other, though we are very different types. Laura likes playing piano, I like playing piano to but I am not far as god as Laura is. Ida likes rap music I don’t like it very much, but we both likes playing badminton and we play double with each other, but we also play single. I am a more quiet type I like to do creative things and I almost, always want the things to be perfect.

Me and my little brother play football in the garden.

In the Easter holiday, I work in the field. I must harrow 4 hectare barley, 2 hectare grass, and 10.1 hectare of maize.

On Easter day come my cousins we were by the North Sea.

On Saturday I plowed. On the Monday it rains then we can`t plow.

On the Monday we change oil on the tractor and oilfilter and dieselfilter. We did not manage to change hydraulicfilter.

My name is Thomas, and I go in Stadil/Vedersø school. The school is situated near Ringkøbing.

I get up at seven o'clock. I am going for walk with my dog and after that I brush my teeth.

Then I go by the bus at eight o'clock. It takes a quarter to school. I go up in my class and speak with my friends. We are two classes in one class. It is because we should spare the money. We are eighteen in my class. We begin twenty minutes past eight. We are eighty-five pupils on the school. We have got the new activeboard it is fun to play with.

To day I will tell you about an ordinary day. I have Danish in two lessons after that English and maths and the best of all is wood work. It is funny; I am working on a bottle opener. And I am also working on a thing which can hold a lamp.

My dog Samson

My dog`s name is Samson. He’s 9 years old. He is a Labrador, he is very lazy. And he LOVES potatoes andsauce, and hates dog food and salad.Samson is a very nice and easy dog, and never bites. Samson doesn’t like to have a bath, or be brushed. But he loves a long walk and a swim in the sea. Once Samson was hit by a car, we were very scared that he was dead or badly hit. But Samson was fine and the car was more hurt than him.

My cat Katla

My cat’s name is Katla. She is 10 years old. As you can see she is black. Katla is very old so sometimes she gets angry. But if you don’t lift her she is kind. Katla has once been very sick because she has been eaten a poisoned rat. We were afraid that we might put here to rest, but she made it through. Since she was sick she had had a lot of damage in the stomach. It meant that we couldn’t lift here, because it really hurts on here. But besides that she is a nice and easy coming cat. She loves when you talk to her or gives her milk.

My room

My room is upstairs. It’s a bit small. But it is not too small for me. In my room I have a bed a table and some pillows. I often listen to music and make my homework in there. It was me who decided that my room should be painted red and black, which are my favourite colours. My mum and dad thought that it would be too dark, but in the end they said it was okay.

My best friends.

This is one of my best friends. Her name is Laura. Laura is 12 years old, and lives in a town not far from mine named Alrum.

Laura is one of my best friends because she’s always happy and it makes my fell happy to. When me and Laura was small we weren’t good friends. We were angry at each other all the time, and couldn’t talk together. But when we started in school we became very good friends and realised how stupid we had been. Today we often laugh at old times. One of the times I most remember with Laura, is when we were together in Laura’s house. Laura’s home is not far from a little lake, so we packed a bag and took down to the lake. We were at the lake a whole day. It was so funny that we forgot to put sun cream on and the next day we were sun burned over the whole body. It really hurts!! But we just laugh at it. Me and Laura always have fun and I hope we will be friends forever.

This is my other best friend Nina. Me and Nina have been friends forever, but some times we argue a lot. Nina lives in the same town as me. We are often together because we live so close to eat other. Nina is 12 years old. And she is in the same class as me. One of the times I most remember with Nina was when we were swimming together in the sea. We were out all day and all we were doing was lying down and relax. Some times we took a swim. When it got dark we droved back to my house and played with water. I like being together with Nina because we always have fun.

This is Olivia. Me and Olivia started to be best friends when we were 4. Olivia is always looking at the bright side that is one of the things I really like about here. Olivia likes to paint and doing creative things. In some way we are so different, but we like the same things. One of the times I most remember with Olivia was when we were sleeping in a tent over at Olivia’s house. The tent wasn’t waterproof so we had to sleep right under the roof so it didn’t get wet. When we woke up the tent was wet, but hot. We couldn’t understand why it was wet, because it hadn’t rained. But later we fount out that it was because it was so hot in the tent.

Hey, my name is Nina. J I’m twelve and a half years old. I am a girl, and I live in a house in Vedersø with my Mum, dad, sister, brother in Denmark.

I have a male cat. The name of my cat is Speedy. He’s about 2 years old. First we thought he was a female. But now we know that he’s a male. I think he is cute. J Here is a picture of him and the view from my house:

I draw a lot of drawings in my spare time. I like to draw Manga because you don’t have to make all the shadows and stuff. You can just keep it very simple! J I have a lot of friends in other parts off Denmark. And some from other places in Europe. So I use a lot of time chatting with my friends. I also like to go to concerts. There I get to se some of my other friends from Denmark. And I get to listen to awesome music! J The picture is of me and one of my friends, it’s kind of old. L

As you maybe have guessed I really like music. I also like to read, take pictures of the nature and to watch television. I like to watch Miami and LA ink. Kat Von D is awesome! J Miami ink and LA ink is a show about a tattoo shop. I also like watching Flapjack, it’s on cartoon network five minutes past eleven every day, or every evening. J I think it comes twice a day. But I haven’t got a clue when? I actually wear glasses. L Or I should, but I hate wearing them. But if I don’t wear them I can’t see the television. And that sucks. L So I have to wear them when I want to watch television. Which is very often. Unless I want to sit on the floor in front of the television. I’m going to buy contact lenses soon. I’m just too lazy to get it done. In my spare time I go to gymnastic. Or it just ended. I go to youth club every Monday. J

Easter snow!

We've had some very bad weather in the last few days. We began the term with snow and the school being closed - and that's how we've ended too! Local roads were flooded on Wednesday and the ground was then covered in about 10 cm of snow. The power was shut off in Gifford village so the school had to be closed yesterday. We are open today for the last week of term. We wish our friends in Denmark and Finland a very happy Easter.

Today we had our Easter Assembly. Every class attended it and told the rest of the school and adults a little bit about Easter. There was a mix of poems, plays, showing things and just talking. Our class did a little play about Easter.

We sang songs about Easter and Rascal and Menace wrote some words for the start of our song that we sung in the Legend of King Loth. We sang it to Ms Trail, and Moonbeam presented some flowers to her while Kizzy and Captain Chaos told her how much she helped us in the production.

It was really exciting and Miss Trail started crying!!!

On Friday 26th March we did a community lunch. Every one had jobs like waiters, maitre d' hotel, chefs and commissionaires. We swapped over jobs about every 45mins.
So many people came that we had to open another room. It got very busy about 12:30 and every one was very rushed. Menace's dad came in to help cook and serve the food because hess a chef and knows how to cook. Her mum also came in to help. Ponakin's, Nonny's, Izzy's, Swagger's and Pony's mum came in and also helped us.

When we started making the food we had to start making the room we were using more cafe-friendly. We got paper and covered the tables and then drew on Easter and cafe decorations. People in the class brought in flowers and vases and we put them on the table to make it look nicer. We had a paper chain from the door to the cafe so that people could follow it and end up at the cafe.

At 9:30am we stated preparing and making the food for the afternoon. We buttered loads of bread ( white and brown ) and we made the sandwich fillings. We made tuna sweetcorn, coronation chicken, cheese and ham. The soups were lentil and chicken noodle. We also made scones but they sold very quickly and we ran out near the end.

Some parents from our class had lunch and we got to have lunch we they did.

There was tea and coffee and you could just help your self. We were allowed second helping of the soup and free refills of the juice. There was black current and orange juice for the people who wanted it.

Mr Devereux came to the cafe and we took his order and served him ! It was funny to be serving your teacher! Hee hee.

Community lunch!

Last week we had a school community lunch. We held this event because we wanted to raise money for the SSPCA which is a charity that rescues animals from cruelty conditions. We raised around £300 but once we took of the expenses of food and use of the mugs, plates, bowls and more things from the kitchen we made about £200 profit.

It was a really good day and learnt that it is hard being a waiter/chef in a café. It’s a lot harder than it looks.

My hamster, Lola

On Thursday 25th my hamster, Lola, came in to the school for my personal project ! She is an albino and she's a Syrian. She is white and has red eyes. I got her on the 27th December 2009. Lola was a really great Christmas present and she is only 6 months old but she is quite big for her age. Lola's really friendly and she has never bitten me before, but she's only nibbled my finger if i have eaten something. Everybody thought she was really cute and I do too!

She eats all the time and she has fruit and vegetables one day a week to keep her healthy. I also give her mixed food with her fruit and vegetables in case she finishes it. I have to clean her out every 4 days because she'll get smelly, and that wouldn't be good !

Every table came up to see her and some people stroked her! :)

Im thinking about breeding her! :D

Well done to everyone in P7 for all you did for the community lunch. You were toptastic! The customers loved the table decorations, Easter table cloths, quality food and good service. You were a terrific team and all worked very hard. I'm proud of you. A big THANK YOU to Menace's dad for running the kitchen and teaching the class how to prepare food so well. THANK YOU also to the mums of Izzy, Nonny, Ponakins, Pony and Swagger for giving up your morning to work in the cafe or the kitchen. We couldn't have done it without you. Thank you to all of you who came along to support us. We've done very well and will announce the sum raised on Monday along with photos and feedback from the class.

Our update for our community lunch.

Yesterday we did loads of planning for the lunch . We made the shopping list, and the menu, planned the layout of the room and started to design table decorations. Today we are going to spend the day planning and making our restaurant room look real. we are going to serve homemade (school made) soup and sandwiches. We are also going to serve drinks: tea, coffee, maybe hot chocolate, fresh apple and diluting orange. We hope it is going to go brilliantly!!!!!

On the 23rd March we went out and went to play with the P2s out side. It is eco-friendly because we are not in the class room and using the lights or the computer. We played a game called cat and mouse. It is a very fun game and the P2s are very fast runners. We also played with our school games for outside. We have stilts, skipping ropes, balls and lots more. We all had a good time and on Thursday we are going to do it again with the P1s. We are looking forward to it. :D

I like my family. We are Jehova witnesses. My name is Anton, I have two sisters a little sister her name is Thilde and a big sister her name is Nynne. My real mother died when I was born, but my dad was married for the second time her name is Charlotte, my dad´s name is Benjamin.

In my spare time I go too football, and I also visit my friends, I have a lot of them. I am 12 years old.

One of the things I like most is my big teddy bear in police-clothes, this I have had since I was born. We live in a little town named Stadil 10 kilometers from the Northsea near Ringkøbing and Holstebro in West Jutland. Me and my dad have build two foot ball goals of tree.

When I grow up I will be an electrician. Right now I have a job, I have a paperound in Ringkøbing there are 142 people who shall have the newspaper on my r0ute. My big sister works in a toy store, my father is plumber, my mother works in a store with a lot things.

Community Lunch

In our class we are raising money for the SSPCA, a charity that helps animals. What we are going to do is a Community Lunch which is when we invite the public to our school and they order food, like a cafe. We have been planning what we are going to sell. We know the soups we are going to sell which is lentil and chicken soup. We came up with lots of different soup but we chose those two. We are thinking of what sandwiches we are going to sell. Like the soup we came up with lots of ideas like: ham and cheese, cheese and tamato, bacon, BLT which is bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich, sausage and lots more. We will be also be selling scones, tea and coffee. There will be jobs for us to do like being a waiter, preparing the food and taking the money from costumers. It will all take place this Friday the 26th. Menace's dad will be helping out with the cooking and giving tips. He decided that sandwiches would sell better than rolls.
